Job Title: Pool Manager
Location: Rutherford Swim Club, 4609 Marley Road, Fairfax, VA 22032
Pool Open: May 25 – September 1, 2025
Position Overview:
Rutherford Swim Club is seeking a Pool Manager to oversee daily pool operations and coordinate and supervise staff for the 2025 season. Responsibilities will begin in April to prepare for the season. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for our members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage weekly staff schedules to ensure proper coverage.
- Supervise and support lifeguards, fostering a positive team environment.
- Train staff on opening, closing, and emergency procedures.
- Enforce safety protocols, conduct routine safety checks, and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Oversee pool maintenance, including chemical management, backwashing, vacuuming, and facility cleanliness.
- Conduct swim tests and perform lifesaving techniques in emergency situations (CPR, First Aid, etc.).
- Communicate effectively with board representatives and address operational needs.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidates have experience in pool management, lifeguard supervision, or a related role. A background in leadership and working with young adults in a family-friendly setting is preferred. Candidates must have, or be willing to obtain, the following certifications:
- Pool Operator
- CPR & First Aid
